ardupilot 4.7.2+ds6-1

Package Information

DescriptionArduPilot vehicle simulators and Software-in-the-Loop tools

ArduPilot is an autopilot for multicopters, helicopters, fixed-wing aircraft, rovers, boats, submarines and other unmanned vehicles. Software-in-the-Loop (SITL) runs the autopilot and simulated sensors and vehicle dynamics on a computer, without flight-controller hardware.

This package includes Copter, Helicopter, Plane, Rover, Sub, Blimp and AntennaTracker simulators, the Replay log tool, and the ardupilot-sitl launcher. It also supplies vehicle models, parameter presets, locations and scripting examples. Ground stations can connect directly using MAVLink. The recommended MAVProxy package provides maps and joystick input from supported USB controllers or radio transmitters.

External simulators can connect through the upstream SITL interfaces; those simulators and their integration plugins are installed separately.

Version4.7.2+ds6-1
Changelog◂
ardupilot (4.7.2+ds6-1) unstable; urgency=medium
 .
   * Initial release. (Closes: #1143989)
 .
   * Package all SITL vehicles, Replay and simulator resources, with a
launcher that uses the installed executables.
 .
   * DroneCAN became Debian package in its own right.
   * Repack without lwIP and libcanard; skip unused lwIP sources in the
native-socket SITL build and document the separate libcanard requirement.
   * Remove bundled pymavlink and use python3-pymavlink; declare the accepted
python3-dronecan package as a build dependency.
   * Not redistributing ChibiOS, CrashDebug and gSOAP modules.
   * Make MAVProxy optional and document direct MAVLink connections from
alternative ground stations; skip MAVProxy when its executable is absent.
   * Build littlefs only when its optional SITL filesystem backend is selected.
   * Build against libcanard-dev's packaged sources with ArduPilot's CAN
configuration, without requiring the removed libcanard submodule.
   * Remove unused bundled GoogleTest and littlefs from the source archive.
   * Use python3-dronecan's matching DSDL definitions instead of the bundled
     DroneCAN DSDL tree.
   * Remove bundled dronecan_dsdlc and use the accepted dronecan-dsdlc packag
for CAN code generation; track its installed scripts and templates.
 .
   * Build without Git when submodule updates are disabled; omit developer
tools and terminal emulators from package recommendations.
   * Maintain source-archive metadata and installed launcher fixes with quilt.
   * Use Debian-packaged GoogleTest and pymavlink for the build.
   * Add build-time and installed-package simulation checks and Salsa CI.
   * Load the launcher's vehicle parameter presets in the SITL smoke tests.

DFSG Assistant LLM REVIEW 1 blocker, 7 important, 2 minor

This is an LLM based review using a Debian Inference based workflow. It was not written by a member of the DFSG team and has not been checked by one. It is not a decision on the package: it may be wrong, and it may have missed things.

DFSG NEW review for ardupilot version 4.7.2+ds6-1

Summary

  • Licensing is DFSG-compliant and debian/copyright is accurate: No
  • Packaging is of good quality: No
  • Issues: 1 blocker, 7 important, 2 minor
  • debian/watch: version 5
  • debian/copyright: machine-readable
  • Scan before the review: 63 found

Licensing

The source is not DFSG-free: two SVG logos under modules/waf are CC BY-NC, a non-free licence, and debian/copyright describes all of modules/waf as BSD-3-clause. debian/copyright is DEP-5 and unusually detailed, but it leaves the whole vendored modules/mavlink tree (LGPL-3 with an Expat exception, plus BSD-3 CMake modules) on the GPL-3.0+ catch-all, and it omits several holders and licences that the tree itself states: Bosch Sensortec's BSD-3 device microcode in AP_InertialSensor_BMI270.cpp, the X11/Expat sorttable.js with its Dean Edwards MIT block, SoftSolutions Inc. in the Sagetech SDK, Cyberbotics Ltd in the Webots controllers, and Texas Instruments' PRU linker files, which carry a TI copyright but no licence grant at all. The rest of the tree, including every other vendored library and its own LICENSE/COPYING file, is covered correctly.

Packaging

The packaging is careful and largely policy-clean: a single arch:any package built by a waf-based dh wrapper at compat 13, all eight quilt patches carry DEP-3 headers, autopkgtest and build-time simulator smoke tests exist, the launcher, man pages and README.Debian match the installed layout, and the Build-Depends resolve (dpkg-buildflags are exported by dh itself, so the hardening and -Wno-error flags in debian/rules do take effect). One Policy 7.8 requirement is missing: the SITL binaries compile libcanard's canard.c from libcanard-dev, so the binary package needs a Built-Using field naming the libcanard source package at the version used. The clean target also leaves the Python bytecode caches the in-tree waf build creates.

Issues

blocker licensing 1. modules/waf ships two CC BY-NC logos, a non-free licence, while debian/copyright calls all of modules/waf BSD-3-clause ◂
  • Files: modules/waf/docs/slides/presentation/gfx/waflogo.svg:59, modules/waf/playground/rst/test.svg:58, debian/copyright:415-419
  • Basis: checked, in the package or with a reference tool
  • Evidence: <dc:description>License: cc by-nc http://creativecommons.org/about/licenses/</dc:description> with <dc:creator><cc:Agent><dc:title>Thomas Nagy</dc:title>; debian/copyright has Files: modules/waf/* ... License: BSD-3-clause.
  • Problem: CC BY-NC forbids commercial use and is not a free licence (DFSG 1 and 6), so these files may not be distributed in main. They are inside the original tarball and are not in Files-Excluded, so the source package itself is non-free. The same stanza also misdescribes their licence as BSD-3-clause.
  • Fix: Remove both files by repacking (add them to Files-Excluded in debian/copyright, e.g. modules/waf/docs/slides/presentation/gfx/waflogo.svg and modules/waf/playground/rst/test.svg) and regenerate the +ds tarball, or replace them with an equivalent free image. Keep Files-Excluded, the tarball and the stanzas consistent.
important licensing 2. No stanza for modules/mavlink: LGPL-3 with an Expat exception and BSD-3 CMake modules are declared GPL-3.0+ ◂
  • Files: modules/mavlink/COPYING:10-14, modules/mavlink/README.md:22, modules/mavlink/cmake/arkcmake/MacroCheckCCompilerFlagSSP.cmake:10-14, modules/mavlink/cmake/arkcmake/ExternalProjectWithFilename.cmake:146-149, modules/mavlink/doc/README.md:17, debian/copyright:37-101
  • Basis: checked, in the package or with a reference tool
  • Evidence: The generator itself is (L)GPL v3 licensed, while the generated code is subject to different licenses and product is hereby licensed under the following MIT license; MAVLink is licensed under the terms of the Lesser General Public License (version 3); # Copyright (c) 2006, Alexander Neundorf ... the terms of the BSD license. For details see the accompanying COPYING-CMAKE-SCRIPTS file.; # Copyright 2008-2009 Kitware, Inc. ... Distributed under the OSI-approved BSD License; (c) 2009-2010 Lorenz Meier / PIXHAWK Team.
  • Problem: debian/copyright has no Files: stanza for modules/mavlink, so the Files: * catch-all applies and the whole module is described as GPL-3.0+. Its own COPYING says LGPL-3 with an Expat exception (and Expat for generated output), and cmake/arkcmake is BSD-3-clause by Neundorf and Kitware. The COPYING-CMAKE-SCRIPTS file the notices refer to is not in the tree, so the BSD terms are not recorded anywhere in debian/copyright either, and holders Neundorf, Kitware and Lorenz Meier are absent. Matching every file to the correct licence stanza is required (Policy 12.5, copyright-format 1.0 §5.2).
  • Fix: Add stanzas: Files: modules/mavlink/* with Copyright 2009-2010 Lorenz Meier / PIXHAWK Team, others and License: LGPL-3+, noting the Expat exception for generated output and reproducing the Expat text (already present); Files: modules/mavlink/cmake/arkcmake/* with Copyright Alexander Neundorf, Kitware, Inc. and License: BSD-3-clause.
important licensing 3. Files: * omits Bosch Sensortec's BSD-3-Clause device microcode in AP_InertialSensor_BMI270.cpp ◂
  • Files: libraries/AP_InertialSensor/AP_InertialSensor_BMI270.cpp:70-76, debian/copyright:37-101
  • Basis: checked, in the package or with a reference tool
  • Evidence: Copyright (c) 2020 Bosch Sensortec GmbH. All rights reserved. followed by BSD-3-Clause and the three-clause text; the file is covered only by Files: * ... License: GPL-3.0+, and no stanza names Bosch Sensortec.
  • Problem: Part of a compiled-in file is third-party BSD-3-Clause code whose holder is not named and whose licence is not recorded; debian/copyright asserts a GPL-3.0+ permission for it that the notice does not grant. The packaging gives Adam Green's Apache-2.0 HexDump block in crashdump.c exactly this treatment, so the omission is inconsistent as well as inaccurate.
  • Fix: Add a stanza for libraries/AP_InertialSensor/AP_InertialSensor_BMI270.cpp with Copyright: 2020 Bosch Sensortec GmbH and License: BSD-3-clause and GPL-3+, with a Comment pointing at the microcode array.
important licensing 4. Tools/scripts/build_sizes/sorttable.js is X11/Expat with an MIT block by Dean Edwards, not GPL-3.0+ ◂
  • Files: Tools/scripts/build_sizes/sorttable.js:12-14, Tools/scripts/build_sizes/sorttable.js:440-447, debian/copyright:37-101
  • Basis: checked, in the package or with a reference tool
  • Evidence: Stuart Langridge, http://www.kryogenix.org/code/browser/sorttable/ and Licenced as X11: http://www.kryogenix.org/code/browser/licence.html; forEach, version 1.0 Copyright 2006, Dean Edwards License: http://www.opensource.org/licenses/mit-license.php.
  • Problem: The file is permissively licensed (X11, i.e. Expat, plus an MIT block) but the Files: * catch-all calls it GPL-3.0+, and neither Stuart Langridge nor Dean Edwards is named as a copyright holder. The Expat text is already in debian/copyright, so only the stanza is missing.
  • Fix: Add Files: Tools/scripts/build_sizes/sorttable.js with Copyright: Stuart Langridge and 2006 Dean Edwards, License: Expat (noting the X11 wording and the MIT block).
important licensing 5. SoftSolutions, Inc. is missing from the Copyright of the Sagetech SDK stanza ◂
  • Files: libraries/AP_ADSB/sagetech-sdk/target.c:2, debian/copyright:381-386
  • Basis: checked, in the package or with a reference tool
  • Evidence: @copyright Copyright (c) 2020 SoftSolutions, Inc. All rights reserved. while the stanza reads Copyright: 2021 Sagetech, Inc. All rights reserved. Jacob.Garrison with License: Apache-2.0.
  • Problem: A copyright holder named in the file is not represented in debian/copyright (Policy 12.5); the licence itself, Apache-2.0, is correct and matches the accompanying LICENSE.
  • Fix: Add 2020 SoftSolutions, Inc. to the Copyright field of the Files: libraries/AP_ADSB/sagetech-sdk/* stanza.
important licensing 6. Webots Makefiles are Apache-2.0 Cyberbotics Ltd code, but the stanza credits only ARM Limited ◂
  • Files: libraries/SITL/examples/Webots/controllers/ardupilot_SITL_QUAD/Makefile:1-3, libraries/SITL/examples/Webots/controllers/ardupilot_SITL_ROVER/Makefile:1-3, libraries/SITL/examples/Webots/controllers/ardupilot_SITL_TRICOPTER/Makefile:1-3, libraries/SITL/examples/Webots/plugins/physics/sitl_physics_env/Makefile:1-3, debian/copyright:406-413
  • Basis: checked, in the package or with a reference tool
  • Evidence: # Copyright 1996-2018 Cyberbotics Ltd. and # Licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0; the covering stanza lists libraries/SITL/examples/Webots/controllers/*, libraries/SITL/examples/Webots/*, libraries/AP_GyroFFT/CMSIS_5/* together with Copyright: 2010-2017 ARM Limited or its affiliates. 2010-2019 Arm Limited or its affiliates.
  • Problem: Cyberbotics Ltd, the holder of the Webots standard Makefile that these four files are, is not named, and ARM Limited is attributed to files that are not Arm's. The licence (Apache-2.0) is right.
  • Fix: Split the stanza: one for the Webots controllers and plugins with Copyright: 1996-2018 Cyberbotics Ltd. and License: Apache-2.0, one for libraries/AP_GyroFFT/CMSIS_5/* with the Arm copyrights.
important licensing 7. Texas Instruments' PRU files carry a TI copyright but no licence grant, and are described as GPL-3.0+ ◂
  • Files: Tools/Linux_HAL_Essentials/pru/rangefinderpru/AM335x_PRU.cmd:1-5, Tools/Linux_HAL_Essentials/pru/rangefinderpru/HexUtil_PRU.cmd, Tools/Linux_HAL_Essentials/pru/rangefinderpru/pru_ctrl.h, debian/copyright:37-101
  • Basis: checked, in the package or with a reference tool
  • Evidence: /* AM335x_PRU.cmd Copyright (c) 2014 Texas Instruments Incorporated */ with nothing granting any licence in the rest of the file; HexUtil_PRU.cmd and pru_ctrl.h carry no notice at all.
  • Problem: A file whose copyright is held by a third party and which grants no licence may not be redistributed, and debian/copyright cannot claim GPL-3.0+ for it; Texas Instruments is also missing from the holder list. The files are not built or installed by this package, which limits the harm, but the source package still distributes them.
  • Fix: Record the real terms: add a stanza naming Texas Instruments Incorporated with the licence the PRU support package actually grants (TI's pru-software-support-package is BSD-3-Clause; check the notice), or drop the PRU firmware directories from the source archive if they are not needed.
important packaging 8. Built-Using is missing although the SITL binaries compile in libcanard's source ◂
  • Files: debian/patches/system-libcanard.patch:96-104, debian/control:15-25
  • Basis: checked, in the package or with a reference tool
  • Evidence: The patch sets env.AP_LIB_EXTRA_SOURCES['AP_DroneCAN'] = ['libcanard.c'] and copies /usr/share/libcanard/canard.c into the build; the ardupilot-sitl stanza has no Built-Using field, and at compat 13 dh_gencontrol only fills substvars written by the maintainer.
  • Problem: Policy 7.8 requires a Built-Using field naming, with an exactly-equal version, the source package of any incorporated code whose licence (here the GPL-3+ of the incorporating binary) requires the complete source to be available. Without it the archive does not retain the libcanard source that this binary was actually built from. Note also that the build-dependency is libcanard-dev (>= ...), so the version used can silently move.
  • Fix: Add Built-Using: libcanard (= 0.2+git20250713.601ed35-1) to the ardupilot-sitl stanza (or a substvar filled from the installed libcanard-dev version) and tighten the Build-Depends to that exact version so the field stays true.
minor licensing 9. Files: * claims GPL-3.0+ for public-domain files and does not name Google Inc. or Xilinx, Inc. ◂
  • Files: modules/waf/playground/gtest/tests/gtest_main.cc:1, modules/waf/playground/xilinx-ise/waf_demo.xise:12, libraries/AP_HAL_ESP32/targets/esp32/esp-idf/main.c:2, libraries/AP_HAL_ESP32/targets/esp32s3/esp-idf/main.c:2, libraries/AP_RCTelemetry/spektrumTelemetrySensors.h:6
  • Basis: checked, in the package or with a reference tool
  • Evidence: // Copyright 2006, Google Inc. All rights reserved. (BSD-3); <!-- Copyright (c) 1995-2011 Xilinx, Inc. All rights reserved. -->; This example code is in the Public Domain (or CC0 licensed, at your option.); Released to Public Domain.
  • Problem: Google Inc. and Xilinx, Inc. are holders named in the tree but absent from debian/copyright, and the two ESP-IDF stubs and the Spektrum header are public domain/CC0 while the catch-all calls them GPL-3.0+. Individually small, together a systematic inaccuracy of the catch-all stanza.
  • Fix: Name Google Inc. in the modules/waf stanza and add public-domain/CC0 entries for the ESP-IDF main.c files and spektrumTelemetrySensors.h; either record Xilinx's notice for the ISE project file or state in a Comment that it is Xilinx tool boilerplate on a generated project file.
minor packaging 10. override_dh_auto_clean leaves the pycache trees the in-tree waf build creates ◂
  • Files: debian/rules:62-66, debian/rules:44
  • Basis: inferred from what was read, not seen directly
  • Evidence: rm -f .lock-waf_linux_build tasklist.json, rm -rf build, rm -f eeprom.bin; the install step already has to pass -X__pycache__ -X.pyc to dh_install.
  • Problem: ./waf imports waflib from modules/waf and the tools from Tools/ardupilotwaf in the source tree and leaves pycache directories there; the clean target does not remove them, so the tree is not restored to its unpacked state as Policy 4.9 (clean) requires and the dh_install exclusions show the maintainer has seen them.
  • Fix: Remove Python bytecode caches in override_dh_auto_clean, e.g. find . -path ./.pc -prune -o -name __pycache__ -prune -exec rm -rf {} + together with the existing removals.
Verified ◂
  • Licensing sweeps: read debian/copyright in full (DEP-5, correct Format URL, Files-Excluded, 100+ stanzas), every COPYING/LICENSE/NOTICE/Copyright file in the tree (COPYING.txt, modules/mavlink/COPYING, modules/waf/LICENSE, modules/waf/utils/launcher/LICENSE, libraries/AP_ADSB/sagetech-sdk/LICENSE, libraries/AP_GyroFFT/CMSIS_5/LICENSE.txt), and grepped the whole tree for Copyright/(C)/©/SPDX-License-Identifier/Licensed under/GNU/Lesser/Apache/Mozilla/CC/public domain/All rights reserved/non-commercial/by-nc/NoDerivs/proprietary wording. The tree was covered by these sweeps rather than by reading all 7465 files.
  • Tools/Frame_params/XPlane/NACA_64_xxx_Airfoils_from_TR824.zip: airfoil tables from NASA TR-824, a data file, not built; it is not installed and is covered by Files: *.
  • Tools/autotest/tilecache/srtm/N21W157.hgt.zip, Tools/autotest/tilecache/srtm/N64W140.hgt.zip, Tools/autotest/tilecache/srtm/S28E151.hgt.zip, Tools/autotest/tilecache/srtm/S36E148.hgt.zip, Tools/autotest/tilecache/srtm/S36E149.hgt.zip: SRTM elevation tiles used by the terrain tilecache, test data covered by Files: *.
  • Tools/simulink/arducopter/arducopter.slx, libraries/SITL/examples/JSON/MATLAB/AP_Conector.slx, libraries/SITL/examples/JSON/MATLAB/Heli/heli.slx, libraries/SITL/examples/JSON/MATLAB/MATLAB 2018b Legacy/AP_Conector.slx, libraries/SITL/examples/JSON/MATLAB/MATLAB 2018b Legacy/Rover.slx, libraries/SITL/examples/JSON/MATLAB/Rover/Rover.slx: Simulink models, which are the editable master form of these models; the Debian build does not generate or use them (Tools/simulink/* is GPL-3 in its stanza).
  • libraries/AP_HAL_ChibiOS/hwdef/CORVON405V2_1/CORVON405V2.1_Pinout.xlsx, libraries/AP_HAL_ChibiOS/hwdef/CORVON743V1/CORVON743V1_Pinout.xlsx, libraries/AP_HAL_ChibiOS/hwdef/MicoAir405Mini/MicoAir405Mini_Pinout.xlsx, libraries/AP_HAL_ChibiOS/hwdef/MicoAir405v2/MicoAir405v2_Pinout.xlsx, libraries/AP_HAL_ChibiOS/hwdef/MicoAir743/MicoAir743_Pinout.xlsx, libraries/AP_HAL_ChibiOS/hwdef/NxtPX4v2/NxtPX4v2_Pinout.xlsx: board pinout spreadsheets, data kept beside the hwdef files, not built and not installed.
  • modules/waf/docs/slides/presentation/gfx/slides-executable_deps.dia: a Dia diagram; gzip is Dia's native container format, not a built binary.
  • modules/waf/playground/dynamic_build2/foo.tar: waf test fixture; its wscript extracts it and builds aa/main.c from inside, so the source is in the archive. The 7-14 byte bar.a, foo.a, truc.a in modules/waf/playground/maxjobs are fake archives used by that playground's job-counting test, not built libraries.
  • libraries/AP_HAL_ChibiOS/hwdef/SkySakuraH743/Wiring diagram.pdf: board vendor wiring diagram, a graphic document; nothing in the tree generates it and the Debian build does not use it.
  • Tools/Linux_HAL_Essentials/devicetree/pxf/BB-BONE-PRU-05-00A0.dtbo, Tools/Linux_HAL_Essentials/devicetree/pxf/BB-PXF-01-00A0.dtbo, Tools/Linux_HAL_Essentials/devicetree/pxf/BB-SPI0-PXF-01-00A0.dtbo, Tools/Linux_HAL_Essentials/devicetree/pxf/BB-SPI1-PXF-01-00A0.dtbo: compiled device-tree overlays, each with its .dts source beside it and the directory's Makefile giving the dtc -O dtb rule; not installed.
  • Tools/autotest/aircraft/Rascal/Models/Rascal.rgb, Tools/autotest/aircraft/Rascal/Rascal110-splash.rgb, Tools/autotest/aircraft/arducopter/Models/quad.3ds, Tools/autotest/aircraft/arducopter/Models/shareware_output.3ds: FlightGear model and splash files in the Rascal and quad aircraft directories, simulation test data.
  • Tools/autotest/tilecache/srtm/filelist_python: a Python pickle of SRTM tile names, a generated index with no copyrightable content; nothing in the tree references it.
  • libraries/AP_Beacon/examples/AP_Marvelmind_test/sample.dump, libraries/AP_Proximity/AP_Proximity/examples/LD06/sample.dump: captured sensor data for those examples.
  • libraries/AP_GSOF/tests/gsof_gps.dat and libraries/AP_Logger/examples/AP_Logger_AllTypes/output.BIN: test input and an example log.
  • libraries/AP_NavEKF/Models/AttErrVecMathExample/with_initial_alignment.fig, libraries/AP_NavEKF/Models/testData/fltTest.mat, libraries/AP_NavEKF/Models/testData/gndTest.mat, libraries/SITL/examples/JSON/MATLAB/Copter/Hexsoon.mat: MATLAB figure and test data for the EKF and MATLAB examples.
  • The twelve libraries/SITL/examples/JSON/pybullet/models/opendog/meshes/*.STL and the five libraries/SITL/examples/Webots_Python/protos/stl/*.stl: 3D meshes for the pybullet and Webots demos; the opendog README names pyrobolearn as the origin and neither carries a separate licence, so they rely on Files: *.
  • modules/waf/demos/mac_app/resources/MainMenu.nib/keyedobjects.nib: compiled Interface Builder archive of the waf macOS demo; upstream ships no other form and the Debian build neither uses nor rebuilds it.
  • Vagrantfile:138, Vagrantfile:159, Vagrantfile:180: prose explaining why Ubuntu's own boxes are not used ("Hashicorp adopting the Business Source License"), not a licence on the file.
  • modules/waf/build_system_kit/nostate/README.txt:2: "this example is for research purposes only" is the author's remark about the example's design, not a licence restriction; the file is under waf's BSD-3-clause.
  • modules/waf/docs/slides/presentation/gfx/waflogo.svg and modules/waf/playground/rst/test.svg: these are the CC BY-NC files reported as a blocker above, not false positives.
  • modules/waf/playground/sphinx/src/conf.py:23 (copyright = '2019, sphinx') is Sphinx's generated template default, not a copyright holder; no stanza is needed.
  • Files-Excluded matches the tree: no *.jar, *.bin, *.hex, *.mexa64, *.mexw64, *.elf or CMSIS *.a remain, and modules/mavlink/pymavlink, the DroneCAN DSDL/bundled libcanard/pydronecan/dronecan_dsdlc trees, modules/littlefs, modules/lwip and modules/gsoap are absent (modules/DroneCAN is an empty directory).
  • Reference checks with the policy tool: Policy is 4.7.4.1, so Standards-Version 4.7.4 is current; Policy 7.8 (Built-Using) and 4.9/4.9.1 (clean, DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS) were read for the findings above.
  • apt-cache: mavproxy 1.8.74-1, pkgconf 2.5.1-4 and libgtest-dev exist; libcanard-dev is not in the archive yet but is built by libcanard 0.2+git20250713.601ed35-1, waiting in NEW.
  • Build flags: /usr/bin/dh:641 calls set_buildflags(), so dpkg-buildflags (including DEB_CXXFLAGS_MAINT_APPEND and hardening=+all) are in the environment when the overridden ./waf commands run, and waf's gcc.py/gxx.py add CFLAGS/CXXFLAGS/CPPFLAGS/LDFLAGS from it; the rules' flag handling is therefore effective, not a fault.
  • All eight patches in debian/patches/series have DEP-3 Description/Author/Forwarded/Last-Update headers and match the Build-Depends and README.source.
  • debian/lrc.config is a licensecheck configuration file kept alongside the packaging; it is not installed in the binary. debian/copyright is in DEP-5 with the canonical Format URL, so no replacement is proposed.
  • debian/watch was not reviewed.
  • uscan found the packaged version as the newest upstream release (upstream 4.7.2, packaged 4.7.2+ds6).
  • Every pointer of debian/copyright to /usr/share/common-licenses names a file that is there (Apache-2.0, CC0-1.0, GPL-1, GPL-2, GPL-3, LGPL-2.1, LGPL-3).
Not confirmed ◂
  • dronecan-dsdlc and python3-dronecan appear in neither the archive lists nor the NEW queue snapshot available to the review; I could not confirm that they install /usr/share/dronecan-dsdlc/dronecan_dsdlc.py and dronecan/dsdl_specs, which Tools/ardupilotwaf/dronecangen.py requires at configure time.
  • No build or test was run. I did not verify that libgtest-dev ships a gtest.pc for the cfg.check_cfg(package='gtest') call the system-build-dependencies patch adds, nor the iconv conversion in override_dh_install, nor the autopkgtest.
  • The .slx, .xlsx and .nib binaries were judged from their paths and documentation; they were not opened.
