node-dialog-polyfill 0.5.6-1
Package Information
| Description | polyfill for the HTML dialog element This library adds support for HTML dialog elements and forms with method="dialog" to browsers without native support. Dialogs can be opened as popups or modal windows, with a backdrop and restricted interaction with the rest of the page. It handles dialog positioning, focus, closing events and form submission, while retaining native support where available. |

DFSG Assistant LLM REVIEW 0 blocker, 0 important, 0 minor
This is an LLM based review using a Debian Inference based workflow. It was not written by a member of the DFSG team and has not been checked by one. It is not a decision on the package: it may be wrong, and it may have missed things.

Report
DFSG NEW review for node-dialog-polyfill version 0.5.6-1
Summary
- Licensing is DFSG-compliant and
debian/copyrightis accurate: Yes - Packaging is of good quality: Yes
- Issues: 0 blocker, 0 important, 0 minor
- debian/watch: version 5
- debian/copyright: machine-readable
- Scan before the review: nothing found
Licensing
All source is BSD-3-clause (Chromium) or Apache-2.0 (Google LLC/Google Inc.), both DFSG-free and mutually compatible. debian/copyright is DEP-5, names every holder found by the prescan, and the stature of each file matches its notice. The full BSD-3-clause text (not in common-licenses) is reproduced in the stand-alone License stanza; Apache-2.0 correctly points to /usr/share/common-licenses/Apache-2.0. The only generated files (dist/*.js, dialog-polyfill.css) are built by rollup from index.js present in the tree during the package build, so their preferred form of modification is included.
Packaging
Clean, conventional nodejs packaging: debhelper-compat 14, minimal dh $@ rules (dh-sequence-nodejs-no-lerna supplies the buildsystem), two all-Architecture binary packages with a correct split (node module + libjs browser files, the node package depending on libjs with a versioned =), proper substvars, correct dep-groups (< !nocheck> for chromium/mocha/chai/esbuild and the node polyfills used by the test). Changelog, Standards-Version 4.7.4, Vcs-* and upstream metadata are all sane. autopkgtest is wired via Testsuite: autopkgtest-pkg-nodejs plus debian/tests/pkg-js/test (a real browser test that runs against the built dist).
Issues
None.
Verified
debian/copyrightis DEP-5 withFormat:1.0; Files:* (BSD-3-clause, 2013 The Chromium Authors, full text reproduced) matches LICENSE and covers index.js, dialog-polyfill.css, index.d.ts, README.md, package.json, package-lock.json, .gitignore, .npmignore, test-invalid.html, dist/* and tests/* (no headers).index.html(Apache-2.0, 2020 Google LLC) andsuite.js/test.html(Apache-2.0, 2015 Google Inc.) carry matching in-file Apache headers; the prescan author check reports every holder is named.- dist/dialog-polyfill.js and dialog-polyfill.esm.js are non-minified rollup bundles regenerated in the package build from index.js (debian/nodejs/build runs cp + rollup); their source is present.
- tests/resources/*.png are small UI icon data files used by the browser suite; preferred form (PNG) is not an issue.
- rules is
dh $@; Build-Depends: debhelper-compat (= 14), dh-nodejs, dh-sequence-nodejs-no-lerna, rollup plus <!nocheck> test deps (chromium, mocha, chai, esbuild, node-{buffer,events,path-browserify,process,stream-browserify,util}); debian/nodejs/{build,files} drive the build and install. - compat 14 auto-adds relationship substvars; Depends fields are therefore correct with ${misc:Depends} explicitly present.
- Changelog 0.5.6-1 unstable, initial release closing #1151525; Standards-Version 4.7.4 equals current Policy 4.7.4.1.
- libjs-dialog-polyfill{,}.links symlink the javascript files from /usr/share/javascript/dialog-polyfill into /usr/share/nodejs/dialog-polyfill/.
- source format 3.0 (quilt) with a single dgit-recorded combined patch (no DEP-3 headers, correct for the dgit workflow).
- uscan found the packaged version as the newest upstream release (upstream
0.5.6, packaged0.5.6). - Every pointer of
debian/copyrightto /usr/share/common-licenses names a file that is there (Apache-2.0).
Not confirmed
- The autopkgtest (debian/tests/pkg-js/run-tests.cjs) launches a headless chromium via the esbuild-bundled mocha/chai suite. Because there is no debian/tests/control, the runtime packages this test needs (chromium, esbuild, mocha, chai, node polyfills) are not declared for the autopkgtest environment; the pkg-js-autopkgtest framework may or may not supply them. A build/autopkgtest run would show whether the environment provides them. The same test does run at build time (dh_auto_test) where the Build-Depends cover it.
Proposed changes
None.
