php-amphp-amp 3.1.3-1
Package Information
| Description | Non-blocking concurrency framework for PHP Amp is a non-blocking concurrency framework for PHP. It provides an event loop, promises and streams as a base for asynchronous programming. Promises in combination with generators are used to build coroutines, which allow writing asynchronous code just like synchronous code, without any callbacks. |

DFSG Assistant LLM REVIEW 0 blocker, 0 important, 0 minor
This is an LLM based review using a Debian Inference based workflow. It was not written by a member of the DFSG team and has not been checked by one. It is not a decision on the package: it may be wrong, and it may have missed things.

Report
DFSG NEW review for php-amphp-amp version 3.1.3-1
Summary
- Licensing is DFSG-compliant and
debian/copyrightis accurate: Yes - Packaging is of good quality: Yes
- Issues: 0 blocker, 0 important, 0 minor
- debian/watch: version 5
- debian/copyright: machine-readable
- Scan before the review: nothing found
Licensing
Every file in the tree is under the Expat (MIT) licence. LICENSE carries the standard Expat text with two copyright holders, amphp 2015-2022 and the PHP Asynchronous Interoperability Group 2016, and debian/copyright is DEP-5 with a Files: * stanza naming both holders and reproducing the full licence text inline. No other licence, copyright notice or non-free wording exists anywhere in the source: src/, test/ and examples/ carry no per-file headers, there is no vendored third-party code, and no generated or binary file ships without its input (src/autoload.php is generated at build time and listed in debian/clean). The one licence is permissive and compatible with the rest of the binary package, which contains nothing else.
Packaging
Textbook debhelper compat 14 packaging with dh-sequence-phpcomposer: composer.json's require (revolt/event-loop) becomes ${phpcomposer:Debian-require} (php-revolt-event-loop, in Build-Depends and in the archive), the library is installed to /usr/share/php/Amp with a phpab-generated autoload.php plus an autoloaders registration whose path matches the install location, and all generated files are rebuilt in override_dh_auto_build and removed by debian/clean. Tests run at build time via phpunit under an override that dh skips on nocheck at compat 13+, and in a single autopkgtest that regenerates the autoloader against the installed package with the right dependencies (phpab supplies phpab, pkg-php-tools supplies phpabtpl, phpunit supplies the runner). Patch 0001 is a narrow PHPUnit 13 data-provider fix that carries a DEP-3 From/Date/Subject header, and control, changelog, Standards-Version 4.7.4 (Policy 4.7.4.1), Vcs-*, upstream/metadata and gbp.conf are consistent with the archive and with each other.
Issues
None.
Verified ◂
- The prescan listed no files: its holder check reports every holder in the tree named in debian/copyright, which I confirmed. The only copyright statements in the tree are LICENSE:4-5, both reproduced in the debian/copyright Files: * stanza.
- Read all files of debian/ in full: control, rules, changelog, copyright, install, clean, docs, examples, gbp.conf, README.source, source/format, patches/series and the patch, tests/control, upstream/metadata, autoloaders/php-amphp-amp.
- Licence evidence gathered by grep over the whole tree (Copyright, (C), ©, SPDX-License-Identifier, Licensed under, Permission is hereby granted, GNU, Apache, Mozilla, BSD, public domain, All rights reserved, license): only LICENSE and debian/copyright contain licence text; LICENSE is the standard Expat text, and composer.json:16 ("license": "MIT") and the README's License section agree.
- No per-file copyright or licence headers in src/ (18 files), test/ (15 files) or examples/ (2 files); all are Amp's own code, no copied or vendored third-party implementation and no vendor/ directory in the tree.
- src/autoload.php is not shipped: debian/rules:5-9 generates it with phpab from the src/ tree, and debian/clean removes it together with vendor/ and the generated phpab templates.
- No binaries, images, fonts, PDFs, minified code or archives in the tree; .editorconfig, .gitattributes, .github/dependabot.yml, .github/workflows/ci.yml, .php-cs-fixer.dist.php, psalm.xml, phpunit.xml.dist and .gitignore are plain text configuration, not installed code.
- Test files contain no other licence; the only test-side metadata added is patch 0001's DataProvider conversion, and no @dataProvider annotation remains anywhere under test/ (grep).
- Reference checks with apt-cache: debhelper 14.5 provides debhelper-compat (= 14); pkg-php-tools 1.50 provides dh-sequence-phpcomposer and ships phpabtpl; phpab provides the phpab command; phpunit 13.4.5 and php-revolt-event-loop 1.0.9-3 exist, and the latter fulfils composer's "^1 || ^0.2".
- The autoloaders registration "amphp amp Amp/autoload.php" is in the same format as the jsonlint registration shipped in /usr/share/pkg-php-tools/autoloaders ("seld jsonlint Seld/JsonLint/autoload.php") and resolves to /usr/share/php/Amp/autoload.php, exactly where debian/install puts src/autoload.php.
- Patch 0001 (From/Date/Subject plus diffstat) touches only test/WeakClosureTest.php: static provider and #[DataProvider], the PHPUnit 13 requirement; it is not obsolete against the 13.4.5 in the archive.
- dh_installexamples(1) recommends exactly the "examples/*" pattern debian/examples uses; debhelper's compat 11+ change that errors on patterns matching nothing does not apply, since the directory exists.
- dh(1) at compat 13+ skips override_dh_auto_test under DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS=nocheck, so the unguarded phpunit override in debian/rules is correct, as is phpunit's <!nocheck> build profile.
- Standards-Version 4.7.4 against Policy 4.7.4.1 (first two components equal); changelog's 3.1.3-1 matches the two 3.1.3 tarballs in the .dsc; distribution experimental and version scheme are sane; no bug closures are claimed that would need checking.
- Files: * matches debian/ as well (copyright-format 6.9), and the debian/ files themselves contain no copyright or licence notice of their own, so the single stanza is the whole of the copyright information.
- Coverage: the tree is small (53 files outside debian/ and .pc/); I read or grepped all of src/, test/, examples/ and every file of debian/ except debian/watch, which is out of scope.
- uscan found the packaged version as the newest upstream release (upstream
3.1.3, packaged3.1.3).
Not confirmed ◂
- The package was not built and its tests were not run: the phpab/phpabtpl generated autoloader and the phpunit run are taken as working, as the packaging follows the Debian PHP team's standard pattern and the maintainer's clean build is reported as passing.
Proposed changes ◂
None.
