License: CC-BY
Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License
.
By exercising the Licensed Rights (defined below), You accept and agree
to be bound by the terms and conditions of this Creative Commons
Attribution 4.0 International Public License ("Public License"). To the
extent this Public License may be interpreted as a contract, You are
granted the Licensed Rights in consideration of Your acceptance of
these terms and conditions, and the Licensor grants You such rights in
consideration of benefits the Licensor receives from making the
Licensed Material available under these terms and conditions.
.
Section 1 -- Definitions.
.
a. Adapted Material means material subject to Copyright and Similar
Rights that is derived from or based upon the Licensed Material
and in which the Licensed Material is translated, altered,
arranged, transformed, or otherwise modified in a manner requiring
permission under the Copyright and Similar Rights held by the
Licensor. For purposes of this Public License, where the Licensed
Material is a musical work, performance, or sound recording,
Adapted Material is always produced where the Licensed Material is
synched in timed relation with a moving image.
.
b. Adapter's License means the license You apply to Your Copyright
and Similar Rights in Your contributions to Adapted Material in
accordance with the terms and conditions of this Public License.
.
c. Copyright and Similar Rights means copyright and/or similar rights
closely related to copyright including, without limitation,
performance, broadcast, sound recording, and Sui Generis Database
Rights, without regard to how the rights are labeled or
categorized. For purposes of this Public License, the rights
specified in Section 2(b)(1)-(2) are not Copyright and Similar
Rights.
.
d. Effective Technological Measures means those measures that, in the
absence of proper authority, may not be circumvented under laws
fulfilling obligations under Article 11 of the WIPO Copyright
Treaty adopted on December 20, 1996, and/or similar international
agreements.
.
e. Exceptions and Limitations means fair use, fair dealing, and/or
any other exception or limitation to Copyright and Similar Rights
that applies to Your use of the Licensed Material.
.
f. Licensed Material means the artistic or literary work, database,
or other material to which the Licensor applied this Public
License.
.
g. Licensed Rights means the rights granted to You subject to the
terms and conditions of this Public License, which are limited to
all Copyright and Similar Rights that apply to Your use of the
Licensed Material and that the Licensor has authority to license.
.
h. Licensor means the individual(s) or entity(ies) granting rights
under this Public License.
.
i. Share means to provide material to the public by any means or
process that requires permission under the Licensed Rights, such
as reproduction, public display, public performance, distribution,
dissemination, communication, or importation, and to make material
available to the public including in ways that members of the
public may access the material from a place and at a time
individually chosen by them.
.
j. Sui Generis Database Rights means rights other than copyright
resulting from Directive 96/9/EC of the European Parliament and of
the Council of 11 March 1996 on the legal protection of databases,
as amended and/or succeeded, as well as other essentially
equivalent rights anywhere in the world.
.
k. You means the individual or entity exercising the Licensed Rights
under this Public License. Your has a corresponding meaning.
.
Section 2 -- Scope.
.
a. License grant.
.
1. Subject to the terms and conditions of this Public License,
the Licensor hereby grants You a worldwide, royalty-free,
non-sublicensable, non-exclusive, irrevocable license to
exercise the Licensed Rights in the Licensed Material to:
.
a. reproduce and Share the Licensed Material, in whole or
in part; and
.
b. produce, reproduce, and Share Adapted Material.
.
2. Exceptions and Limitations. For the avoidance of doubt, where
Exceptions and Limitations apply to Your use, this Public
License does not apply, and You do not need to comply with
its terms and conditions.
.
3. Term. The term of this Public License is specified in Section
6(a).
.
4. Media and formats; technical modifications allowed. The
Licensor authorizes You to exercise the Licensed Rights in
all media and formats whether now known or hereafter created,
and to make technical modifications necessary to do so. The
Licensor waives and/or agrees not to assert any right or
authority to forbid You from making technical modifications
necessary to exercise the Licensed Rights, including
technical modifications necessary to circumvent Effective
Technological Measures. For purposes of this Public License,
simply making modifications authorized by this Section 2(a)
(4) never produces Adapted Material.
.
5. Downstream recipients.
.
a. Offer from the Licensor -- Licensed Material. Every
recipient of the Licensed Material automatically
receives an offer from the Licensor to exercise the
Licensed Rights under the terms and conditions of this
Public License.
.
b. No downstream restrictions. You may not offer or impose
any additional or different terms or conditions on, or
apply any Effective Technological Measures to, the
Licensed Material if doing so restricts exercise of the
Licensed Rights by any recipient of the Licensed
Material.
.
6. No endorsement. Nothing in this Public License constitutes or
may be construed as permission to assert or imply that You
are, or that Your use of the Licensed Material is, connected
with, or sponsored, endorsed, or granted official status by,
the Licensor or others designated to receive attribution as
provided in Section 3(a)(1)(A)(i).
.
b. Other rights.
.
1. Moral rights, such as the right of integrity, are not
licensed under this Public License, nor are publicity,
privacy, and/or other similar personality rights; however, to
the extent possible, the Licensor waives and/or agrees not to
assert any such rights held by the Licensor to the limited
extent necessary to allow You to exercise the Licensed
Rights, but not otherwise.
.
2. Patent and trademark rights are not licensed under this
Public License.
.
3. To the extent possible, the Licensor waives any right to
collect royalties from You for the exercise of the Licensed
Rights, whether directly or through a collecting society
under any voluntary or waivable statutory or compulsory
licensing scheme. In all other cases the Licensor expressly
reserves any right to collect such royalties.
.
Section 3 -- License Conditions.
.
Your exercise of the Licensed Rights is expressly made subject to the
following conditions.
.
a. Attribution.
.
1. If You Share the Licensed Material (including in modified
form), You must:
.
a. retain the following if it is supplied by the Licensor
with the Licensed Material:
.
i. identification of the creator(s) of the Licensed
Material and any others designated to receive
attribution, in any reasonable manner requested by
the Licensor (including by pseudonym if
designated);
.
ii. a copyright notice;
.
iii. a notice that refers to this Public License;
.
iv. a notice that refers to the disclaimer of
warranties;
.
v. a URI or hyperlink to the Licensed Material to the
extent reasonably practicable;
.
b. indicate if You modified the Licensed Material and
retain an indication of any previous modifications; and
.
c. indicate the Licensed Material is licensed under this
Public License, and include the text of, or the URI or
hyperlink to, this Public License.
.
2. You may satisfy the conditions in Section 3(a)(1) in any
reasonable manner based on the medium, means, and context in
which You Share the Licensed Material. For example, it may be
reasonable to satisfy the conditions by providing a URI or
hyperlink to a resource that includes the required
information.
.
3. If requested by the Licensor, You must remove any of the
information required by Section 3(a)(1)(A) to the extent
reasonably practicable.
.
4. If You Share Adapted Material You produce, the Adapter's
License You apply must not prevent recipients of the Adapted
Material from complying with this Public License.
.
Section 4 -- Sui Generis Database Rights.
.
Where the Licensed Rights include Sui Generis Database Rights that
apply to Your use of the Licensed Material:
.
a. for the avoidance of doubt, Section 2(a)(1) grants You the right
to extract, reuse, reproduce, and Share all or a substantial
portion of the contents of the database;
.
b. if You include all or a substantial portion of the database
contents in a database in which You have Sui Generis Database
Rights, then the database in which You have Sui Generis Database
Rights (but not its individual contents) is Adapted Material; and
.
c. You must comply with the conditions in Section 3(a) if You Share
all or a substantial portion of the contents of the database.
.
For the avoidance of doubt, this Section 4 supplements and does not
replace Your obligations under this Public License where the Licensed
Rights include other Copyright and Similar Rights.
.
Section 5 -- Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability.
.
a. UNLESS OTHERWISE SEPARATELY UNDERTAKEN BY THE LICENSOR, TO THE
EXTENT POSSIBLE, THE LICENSOR OFFERS THE LICENSED MATERIAL AS-IS
AND AS-AVAILABLE, AND MAKES NO REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES OF
ANY KIND CONCERNING THE LICENSED MATERIAL, WHETHER EXPRESS,
IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHER. THIS INCLUDES, WITHOUT LIMITATION,
WARRANTIES OF TITLE, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR
PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ABSENCE OF LATENT OR OTHER DEFECTS,
ACCURACY, OR THE PRESENCE OR ABSENCE OF ERRORS, WHETHER OR NOT
KNOWN OR DISCOVERABLE. WHERE DISCLAIMERS OF WARRANTIES ARE NOT
ALLOWED IN FULL OR IN PART, THIS DISCLAIMER MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
.
b. TO THE EXTENT POSSIBLE, IN NO EVENT WILL THE LICENSOR BE LIABLE
TO YOU ON ANY LEGAL THEORY (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION,
NEGLIGENCE) OR OTHERWISE FOR ANY DIRECT, SPECIAL, INDIRECT,
INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, EXEMPLARY, OR OTHER LOSSES,
COSTS, EXPENSES, OR DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THIS PUBLIC LICENSE OR
USE OF THE LICENSED MATERIAL, EVEN IF THE LICENSOR HAS BEEN
ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH LOSSES, COSTS, EXPENSES, OR
DAMAGES. WHERE A LIMITATION OF LIABILITY IS NOT ALLOWED IN FULL OR
IN PART, THIS LIMITATION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
.
c. The disclaimer of warranties and limitation of liability provided
above shall be interpreted in a manner that, to the extent
possible, most closely approximates an absolute disclaimer and
waiver of all liability.
.
Section 6 -- Term and Termination.
.
a. This Public License applies for the term of the Copyright and
Similar Rights licensed here. However, if You fail to comply with
this Public License, then Your rights under this Public License
terminate automatically.
.
b. Where Your right to use the Licensed Material has terminated under
Section 6(a), it reinstates:
.
1. automatically as of the date the violation is cured, provided
it is cured within 30 days of Your discovery of the
violation; or
.
2. upon express reinstatement by the Licensor.
.
For the avoidance of doubt, this Section 6(b) does not affect any
right the Licensor may have to seek remedies for Your violations
of this Public License.
.
c. For the avoidance of doubt, the Licensor may also offer the
Licensed Material under separate terms or conditions or stop
distributing the Licensed Material at any time; however, doing so
will not terminate this Public License.
.
d. Sections 1, 5, 6, 7, and 8 survive termination of this Public
License.
.
Section 7 -- Other Terms and Conditions.
.
a. The Licensor shall not be bound by any additional or different
terms or conditions communicated by You unless expressly agreed.
.
b. Any arrangements, understandings, or agreements regarding the
Licensed Material not stated herein are separate from and
independent of the terms and conditions of this Public License.
.
Section 8 -- Interpretation.
.
a. For the avoidance of doubt, this Public License does not, and
shall not be interpreted to, reduce, limit, restrict, or impose
conditions on any use of the Licensed Material that could lawfully
be made without permission under this Public License.
.
b. To the extent possible, if any provision of this Public License is
deemed unenforceable, it shall be automatically reformed to the
minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable. If the provision
cannot be reformed, it shall be severed from this Public License
without affecting the enforceability of the remaining terms and
conditions.
.
c. No term or condition of this Public License will be waived and no
failure to comply consented to unless expressly agreed to by the
Licensor.
.
d. Nothing in this Public License constitutes or may be interpreted
as a limitation upon, or waiver of, any privileges and immunities
that apply to the Licensor or You, including from the legal
processes of any jurisdiction or authority.
DFSG Assistant LLM REVIEW 3 blocker, 3 important, 3 minor
This is an LLM based review using a Debian Inference based workflow. It was not written by a member of the DFSG team and has not been checked by one. It is not a decision on the package: it may be wrong, and it may have missed things.

Report
DFSG NEW review for zam-plugins version 4.5+ds-1
Summary
- Licensing is DFSG-compliant and
debian/copyrightis accurate: No - Packaging is of good quality: Yes
- Issues: 3 blocker, 3 important, 3 minor
- debian/watch: version 5
- debian/copyright: machine-readable
- Scan before the review: nothing found
Licensing
The code is free (GPL-2+, ISC, Expat/MIT, CC-BY-4.0 and the permissive Cephes notice), and I found no non-free terms. But debian/copyright does not describe several files correctly: plugins/ZamSFZ/libsfz/sfz.cpp and sfz.h are said to be GPL-2+ Anders Dahnielson although the only licence statement (NOTICE.SFZero) makes them Steve Folta's MIT code; widgets/ZamWidgets.hpp carries Filipe Coelho's ISC header but is only covered by Files: * GPL-2+; plugins/ZamNoise/bessel.inc is Moshier's Cephes code with no stanza at all; plugins/ZamChild670 is GPL-2 only by Peter Raffensperger; Robin Gareus is missing for the two convolution.cpp/hpp pairs; the bundled Allstar4.ttf and Amperzand.ttf have no licence information; and the CC-BY stanza omits plugins/ZamEcho/artwork/zamecho.svg. The file is DEP-5 and its Format line is correct, so no replacement file is proposed.
Packaging
The packaging is sound: dpkg-buildflags hardening and LTO, compat 14, a correct split into six format packages plus a meta package, system zita-convolver instead of the removed lib/, working cross-build support, and a smoke autopkgtest. Build-Depends are resolvable (dpf-source, libzita-convolver-dev pulls libfftw3-dev, libgl-dev pulls libx11-dev), and Standards-Version 4.7.4 is current against Policy 4.7.4.1. Only minor things remain: the six packages that take over files from the old zam-plugins declare Replaces without the Breaks that Policy 7.6.1 prescribes, and the repeated binary descriptions are stale and, for -ladspa, inaccurate.
Issues
1. [blocker] [licensing] sfz.cpp/sfz.h are Steve Folta's MIT code but debian/copyright says GPL-2+ by Anders Dahnielson
- Files:
plugins/ZamSFZ/libsfz/sfz.cpp,plugins/ZamSFZ/libsfz/sfz.h,NOTICE.SFZero:1-19,debian/copyright:51-55 - Basis: checked, in the package or with a reference tool
- Evidence: NOTICE.SFZero:
The libsfz file parser code in sfz.cpp and sfz.h was borrowed from SFZero,Copyright (C) 2012 Steve Folta,Permission is hereby granted, free of charge, .... debian/copyright:Files: plugins/ZamSFZ/libsfz/sfz.cpp plugins/ZamSFZ/libsfz/sfz.h/Copyright: 2008-2009, Anders Dahnielson/License: GPL-2+. Neither source file carries any header. - Problem: The only licence statement the package makes about these two files grants MIT (Expat) terms to Steve Folta; debian/copyright names a different holder and a different, stricter licence. This is an inaccurate copyright file, and the MIT notice is not reproduced in it.
- Fix: Give these two files their own stanza naming Steve Folta (and Anders Dahnielson if his code is still present), with
License: Expatand the full MIT text; NOTICE.SFZero can be cited as the source of the notice.
2. [blocker] [licensing] widgets/ZamWidgets.hpp is Filipe Coelho's ISC-licensed DPF code but is covered only by Files: * GPL-2+
- Files:
widgets/ZamWidgets.hpp:1-16,debian/copyright:9-11 - Basis: checked, in the package or with a reference tool
- Evidence: Header:
DISTRHO Plugin Framework (DPF) Copyright (C) 2012-2016 Filipe Coelho <falktx@falktx.com>andPermission to use, copy, modify, and/or distribute this software for any purpose with or without fee is hereby granted, provided that the above copyright notice and this permission notice appear in all copies.Files: * stanza:Copyright: 2013-2023 Damien Zammit <damien@zamaudio.com>/License: GPL-2+. - Problem: The file's own terms are ISC and its holder is Filipe Coelho, but debian/copyright attributes it only to Damien Zammit under GPL-2+. The file is included by 18 plugin UIs (e.g. plugins/ZamComp/ZamCompUI.hpp:23) and compiled into the plugins, so the missing holder and missing ISC text concern the shipped binaries too. The same ISC terms apply to DPF itself, which debian/rules copies from dpf-source and links in.
- Fix: Add a stanza for widgets/* with both copyright holders and
License: ISC(full ISC text), and note in a Comment that the DPF code linked in from dpf-source is under the same ISC terms.
3. [blocker] [licensing] bessel.inc is Cephes code by Stephen L. Moshier with no copyright or licence stanza
- Files:
plugins/ZamNoise/bessel.inc:71-89,plugins/ZamNoise/bessel.inc:276-294,debian/copyright:9-11 - Basis: checked, in the package or with a reference tool
- Evidence:
Cephes Math Library Release 2.8: June, 2000/Copyright 1984, 1987, 2000 by Stephen L. Moshier/What you see here may be used freely but it comes with no support or guarantee. The file is textually included by plugins/ZamNoise/Denoise.cpp:22 (#include "bessel.inc") and built into ZamNoise. - Problem: The holder and licence of a file compiled into a binary package are not in debian/copyright at all; the Cephes notice is not in /usr/share/common-licenses, so DEP-5 requires its text to be included. Files: * wrongly presents the file as Damien Zammit's GPL-2+ work.
- Fix: Add
Files: plugins/ZamNoise/bessel.incwithCopyright: 1984, 1987, 2000 Stephen L. Moshierand a stand-aloneLicense: Cephesparagraph containing the quoted notice.
4. [important] [licensing] ZamChild670 is GPL-2 only by Peter Raffensperger but is recorded as GPL-2+ by Damien Zammit
- Files:
plugins/ZamChild670/wavechild670.h:7,18-19,plugins/ZamChild670/sidechainamplifier.h,plugins/ZamChild670/tubemodel.h,plugins/ZamChild670/variablemuamplifier.h,plugins/ZamChild670/wdfcircuits.h,plugins/ZamChild670/generatedwdfutilities.h,debian/copyright:9-11 - Basis: checked, in the package or with a reference tool
- Evidence:
By Peter Raffensperger 10 July 2012andLicense: Wavechild670 is licensed under the GNU GPL v2 license. The same header is in every .cpp/.h of the directory. - Problem: The holder is missing and the licence version is overstated: the grant is GPL v2, not "v2 or later", so Files: *'s GPL-2+ is inaccurate. The plugin is not built (it is absent from PLUGINS in Makefile:19), but the files are shipped in the source package and must be described correctly.
- Fix: Add a stanza for plugins/ZamChild670/* (excluding artwork/zamchild670.svg, which is covered by the CC-BY stanza) with
Copyright: 2012 Peter RaffenspergerandLicense: GPL-2.
5. [important] [licensing] Files: * does not name Robin Gareus, holder of the convolution code built into ZamHeadX2 and ZamVerb
- Files:
plugins/ZamHeadX2/convolution.cpp:3,plugins/ZamHeadX2/convolution.hpp:3,plugins/ZamVerb/convolution.cpp:3,plugins/ZamVerb/convolution.hpp:3,debian/copyright:9-11 - Basis: checked, in the package or with a reference tool
- Evidence:
Copyright (C) 2012 Robin Gareus <robin@gareus.org>followed byCopyright (C) 2017 Damien Zammit <damien@zamaudio.com>under GPL-2+ ("either version 2 ... or any later version"). - Problem: A copyright holder of code compiled into two binary packages is absent from debian/copyright; Files: * names only Damien Zammit.
- Fix: Add a stanza for these four files with both copyright lines and
License: GPL-2+.
6. [important] [licensing] Bundled fonts Allstar4.ttf and Amperzand.ttf have no copyright or licence information
- Files:
plugins/ZaMaximX2/artwork/Allstar4.ttf,plugins/ZaMaximX2/artwork/Amperzand.ttf,plugins/ZaMultiCompX2/artwork/Allstar4.ttf,plugins/ZamDynamicEQ/artwork/Amperzand.ttf,debian/copyright:9-11 - Basis: checked, in the package or with a reference tool
- Evidence: Ten copies of each font under plugins/*/artwork/; the only references in the tree are font-family names inside the SVG artwork (e.g.
font-family:Allstar4;-inkscape-font-specification:Allstar4). No licence or copyright file mentions them; Files: * attributes them to2013-2023 Damien Zammitunder GPL-2+. - Problem: Fonts are copyrightable works of unclear provenance; the package gives no evidence that they may be redistributed, and the blanket GPL-2+ claim in Files: * is unsupported. They are not used by the build or installed in any binary package, so they can equally be dropped.
- Fix: Either document the fonts' holders and licences (with the licence text) in debian/copyright, or remove the unused .ttf files from the source package if their licensing cannot be established.
7. [minor] [licensing] CC-BY stanza omits plugins/ZamEcho/artwork/zamecho.svg
- Files:
plugins/ZamEcho/artwork/zamecho.svg:111,debian/copyright:26-49 - Basis: checked, in the package or with a reference tool
- Evidence: zamecho.svg contains
<!-- License: creative commons attribution -->; the CC-BY stanza lists 22 SVG files but not this one, so it falls under Files: *License: GPL-2+. - Problem: A file whose author marked it CC-BY is described as GPL-2+, so the stanza does not match the file. The .png artwork and the generated *Artwork.cpp files that embed these images are likewise left under Files: * although they are derived from the CC-BY SVGs.
- Fix: Add
plugins/ZamEcho/artwork/zamecho.svgto the CC-BY stanza, and cover the exported PNG/Artwork.cpp artwork as CC-BY too if that is its source.
8. [minor] [packaging] The six split packages use Replaces without Breaks against the old zam-plugins
- Files:
debian/control:96,debian/control:151,debian/control:208,debian/control:265,debian/control:322,debian/control:379,debian/control:33-36 - Basis: checked, in the package or with a reference tool
- Evidence: Each of zam-plugins-jack/-clap/-ladspa/-lv2/-vst/-vst3 has
Replaces: zam-plugins (<< 4.5+ds-1)but no Breaks; the onlyBreaks:is in the meta package against itself. Policy 7.6.1:Normally, "Breaks" should be used in conjunction with "Replaces", with exactly this split-package example. - Problem: The packages that take over the old package's files are the ones that need the pair; without Breaks, an older zam-plugins can be unpacked on top of the new packages and dpkg will hit a file conflict. The self-Breaks in the meta package does not protect them.
- Fix: Add
Breaks: zam-plugins (<< 4.5+ds-1)next to each subpackage's Replaces (and drop the ineffective self-reference in the meta package, or keep it, it is harmless).
9. [minor] [packaging] Binary descriptions omit ZamNoise and ZamEcho and the -ladspa description lists plugins it does not ship
- Files:
debian/control:23-89,debian/control:203-259 - Basis: checked, in the package or with a reference tool
- Evidence: Makefile:19 builds
... ZamGrains ZamNoise ZamEcho; each Description lists 17 plugins and never mentions ZamNoise or ZamEcho. plugins/ZaMultiComp/Makefile, plugins/ZamHeadX2/Makefile and plugins/ZamPhono/Makefile have noTARGETS += ladspa, yet their names appear in the -ladspa description. - Problem: The package descriptions do not match what the packages install: two built plugins are unlisted everywhere, and zam-plugins-ladspa advertises ZaMultiComp, ZamHeadX2 and ZamPhono that it does not contain.
- Fix: Update the repeated plugin list to the 19 built plugins, and for -ladspa use the set that actually builds LADSPA targets (drop ZaMultiComp, ZamHeadX2, ZamPhono there).
Verified
- Read every file under debian/ in full: control, rules, changelog, copyright, the six .install files, the five lintian overrides, patches/series and both patches, tests/control and tests/smoke, gbp.conf, source/format, upstream/metadata, README.source, README.get.source, gbp/postclone.sh. There are no maintainer scripts.
- Inventoried the whole upstream tree (360 files) directory by directory, including .github/, widgets/ and all 24 plugin directories; read the header of every source-file group and every COPYING/NOTICE file, and grepped the tree (excluding .pc/) for Copyright, (C), ©, SPDX, Permission, GNU, Apache, MPL, public domain and "All rights reserved".
- Prescan file NOTICE.DPF: it is DPF's ISC notice (Filipe Coelho). DPF source is not in the tarball (dpf/ is empty; debian/rules copies /usr/share/dpf from dpf-source), so it needs no stanza of its own; the ISC terms that do ship are in widgets/ZamWidgets.hpp, reported above.
- Prescan file NOTICE.SFZero is the MIT notice covering plugins/ZamSFZ/libsfz/sfz.cpp and sfz.h; reported above, as are plugins/ZamHeadX2/convolution.cpp/.hpp, plugins/ZamVerb/convolution.cpp/.hpp, plugins/ZamNoise/bessel.inc and widgets/ZamWidgets.hpp.
- The .cpp/.hpp headers of all other plugin sources are Damien Zammit's GPL-2+ or (ZamNoise/Denoise.*) Jeffrey J. Welty's GPL-2+, which has its own stanza; the CC-BY SVG notices match the 22 listed files apart from zamecho.svg.
- Files: * is a valid catch-all; later stanzas override it, and no file is left without a stanza other than those reported. debian/copyright is DEP-5 with the exact copyright-format 1.0 Format URL, so no replacement file is proposed.
- The *Artwork.cpp files say
(Auto-generated binary data file); the corresponding .png and .svg artwork is present beside each of them, so the preferred form is shipped. No compiled binaries or libraries are in the source tree. - Build-Depends checked with apt-cache: dpf-source 1.7+ds1-1, ladspa-sdk, liblo-dev, libsamplerate0-dev, pkgconf; libzita-convolver-dev depends on libfftw3-dev (fftw3f), libgl-dev -> libglx-dev -> libx11-dev, so the pkg-config and X11/GL headers are satisfied. Autopkgtest deps (ffmpeg, lv2file 0.95-4, lilv-utils, ladspa-sdk) exist in main.
- Standards-Version 4.7.4 against Policy 4.7.4.1: first two components match, so it is current. dh compat 14; ${misc:Depends}/${shlibs:Depends} need not be listed at this level but are harmless.
- debian/rules installs into the source root with DESTDIR=$(CURDIR); dh_install(1) falls back to the current directory when debian/tmp is absent, and the six .install files cover every path the Makefile install target creates (usr/bin, usr/lib/{lv2,ladspa,vst,vst3,clap}), so dh_missing --fail-missing is satisfied.
- Checked the build wiring: system zita-convolver (HAVE_ZITA_CONVOLVER=true) matches Files-Excluded: lib; the AU target is disabled by patch; the cross patch and CROSS_TOOLS/EXE_WRAPPER are consistent; chmod of the generated LV2 .ttl files happens after install.
- CC-BY-4.0 artwork combined with GPL-2+ code is distributable because the "or later" option allows GPL-3.
- The text files larger than 4 MiB are the raw float impulse tables in plugins/ZamVerb/*.inc; the scan saw only their first 4 MiB and found no licence wording in them.
- uscan found the packaged version as the newest upstream release (upstream
4.5, packaged4.5+ds). - Every pointer of
debian/copyrightto /usr/share/common-licenses names a file that is there (GPL-2).
Not confirmed
- The provenance of the plugins/ZamVerb/*.inc impulse tables: raw comma-separated float data, no header, read as Damien Zammit's under Files: *; whether they were generated or taken from a third party cannot be determined from the package.
- The contents of Allstar4.ttf and Amperzand.ttf were not inspected (binary fonts); no licence information exists anywhere in the package, and any copyright/licence metadata inside the font files could not be read.
- That the plugins//artwork/.png files are exports of the CC-BY SVGs (used for the zamecho/PNG part of the artwork issue) is inferred from the artwork layout and the Inkscape export metadata, not directly verified.
- The autopkgtest was not run and the build was not performed; the lv2file invocation and port counting in debian/tests/smoke were not exercised.
